Sustainable Future 2: Sustainability from Many Perspectives

For Earth Day 2024, GLC partnered with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to open the Sustainable Future series in Ho Chi Minh City. The framing question was deliberately plain: what does sustainable development actually look like from inside a particular profession, rather than from a general report?

The session opened with a passage from the documentary Breaking Boundaries: in barely fifty years humanity has pushed itself out of the stable climate state that carried civilisation through the preceding ten thousand. From there the conversation turned to a more practical question — what have successive generations of Vietnamese actually been doing about it?

The talkshow was aimed at three groups: young people wanting to enter the sustainability field, businesses seeking training, and educators and students following the topic. A shared cost of 30,000 VND for students and 50,000 VND for working attendees covered the room and materials.
